1. How is this different from the 50cm Stainless Steel Bird Spikes?
The 100cm version is twice the length, features 48 spikes (vs. 20), and has a rigid stainless steel base rather than a plastic one. This makes it a heavier-duty option better suited to larger surfaces and more demanding environments.
2. Is the base also stainless steel?
Yes. Unlike the 50cm models, this strip features full 304 stainless steel construction — both the base and the spikes — providing greater rigidity and durability.
3. Is this suitable for coastal environments?
Yes. The 304 stainless steel construction offers excellent corrosion resistance, making it well-suited for coastal, high-humidity, and salt-air environments.
4. How do I install the strips?
The stainless steel base can be secured using adhesive, screws, or cable ties depending on the surface. Clean the area beforehand and apply your chosen fixing method before pressing the strip into position.
5. Can the base be bent to fit curved surfaces?
The stainless steel base is rigid, so it is best suited to flat surfaces such as roof edges, parapets, railings, and wide ledges. For curved surfaces, the 50cm flexible plastic base models may be more appropriate.
6. How many strips do I need?
Each strip covers 100cm. Measure your surface length in metres and that equals the number of strips required (e.g. 5 metres = 5 strips).
